Neuropsychological Assessment

I have over sixteen years of clinical experience as a clinical neuropsychologist. I am currently a clinic director and senior clinical neuropsychologist at APT Psychosocial. All clinical assessments are done through the clinic.

I have a large amount of experience working with patients with chronic mental health conditions as well as first episode and early-stage illness, having worked in inpatient and community mental health facilities for 13 years. I have a comprehensive understanding of the conditions, how mental health affects cognition and daily functioning, as well as a broader understanding of the mental health system and services available. In this context neuropsychological assessment can provide diagnostic clarification as well as guidance on support required for living in the community.

Neuropsychological assessment is often called on in applications to the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

I also have a vast amount of experience in assessment and diagnosis of autism and ADHD in adults. This experience has involved contributing to successful applications to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for housing and support.

I have extensive experience in conducting assessments of decision making capacity and providing professional opinion to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT – previously Guardianship Tribunal). I also have experience in providing neuropsychological opinion to The Children’s Court, The District Court as well as the Mental Health Review Tribunal.

I have undertaken MAA permanent impairment training and have experience in providing neuropsychological opinion to insurers on permanent impairment and return to work.

I completed my Masters Thesis on epilepsy looking into the effects of seizures on olfactory processing.
